Résumé :
L’intégration figure parmi les concepts clés de la théorie des organisations. Constatant la difficulté de fédérer les ensembles humains, les chercheurs ont exploré les conditions de l’unité, de la coopération, et de la formulation d’un accord. Leurs travaux ont dévoilé la complexité et les multiples facettes de l’intégration, ainsi que la variété de ses fondements. Pourtant, l’usage contemporain réduit l’intégration au contrôle, lui prêtant les attributs d’homogénéité, de discipline et d’harmonie relationnelle. L’étude longitudinale du pluralisme intégré de la banque de détail du Crédit Agricole corrige ces déformations. (1) Elle rappelle la fonction fondamentale de l’intégration, qui consiste à rendre compatibles des logiques hétérogènes et à concilier la diversité, afin de permettre le fonctionnement collectif. (2) Elle fournit une base à l’actualisation des théories de l’intégration et à la formalisation d’une méthode d’analyse. (3) Enfin, elle esquisse un modèle prescriptif généralisable à toute organisation qui souhaite accroître son pluralisme sans pénaliser sa cohésion.

Abstract:
Integration appears as a core concept of organizational theories. Facing the challenge of collective actions, researchers have been thoroughly studying the underlying conditions for unity, cooperation and agreement. Their findings unveiled the multiplicity, the complexity and the various foundations of integration. Yet, contemporary use restricts integration to control and ascribes to it properties such as homogeneity, discipline and relational harmony. The achieved longitudinal study of the integrated pluralism of Crédit Agricole sets things right. (1) It emphasizes the fundamental functions of integration, which consists in making compatible heterogeneous logics of action and conciliating diversity in order to facilitate collective functioning. (2) It provides the basis for the actualization of integration theories and its methods of analysis. (3) Lastly, it outlines a prescriptive model applicable to organizations seeking to increase pluralism while protecting their cohesion.
